Events Hire is committed to protecting your data in compliance with 2018 GDPR regulations and the Irish & UK data protection acts of 2018 as published by the Irish Data Protection Commission and the UK Information Commissioners Office. To this end we have engaged with a data privacy management provider (data-privacy.ie) to ensure all privacy related documentation and data subject access requests (DSAR’s) are managed appropriately. The following sections outline our commitment to protecting your data on a statutory and ethical level in accordance with the aforementioned regulations and directives.

Collection and use of data

At part of normal business process, we may collect personal data such as your name and contact details in our contact forms, booking systems and newsletter subscription service. This data allows us to provide our services to you in a timely manner. Data collected by us will be securely stored in a relational database on a third party hosted web server in a Dublin based data centre.

Third Party Data Processors

Events Hire uses third party payment processors for online booking deposits on it’s ecommerce platform. These processors (e.g. Stripe) wholly manage payment transactions though their payment gateways. We do not store credit card details, account login details related to these third parties. We assume no liability for security or breaches of their payment processing systems.

Legal Basis for Processing

Events Hire uses personal data expressly for the purpose of providing you with a service relating to the hiring of goods and services for which you have enquired about and thereby consent to use. This data is only being held to facilitate this purpose and does not extend to sharing with 3rd parties (e.g. for marketing purposes).

Data Rights

In accordance with the provisions of the general data protection regulations [GDPR] which came into effect in May 2018. We are committed to adherence to the articles pertaining to your rights as a ‘data subject’ which are set out in the following sections.

General Provisions

As an individual ‘data subject’ you are entitled to a period of no more than 30 days for your data request to be processed [subject to our obligations as a data controller]

  • All requests must be made via email to [email protected] with as much detail as you are able to provide in order to process your request effectively

  • Identity verification checks maybe required to ensure you are who you assert to be

  • There is no fee for data requests

Right of Erasure [Right to be forgotten]

You have the right to request that all personal data we may have on you, be deleted from our systems. We will comply with this request barring any legal pre-eminence or binding contractual obligations.

Right of Rectification

You have the right to request that data which is inaccurate or incomplete be amended. We are happy to comply, promptly to these requests.

Right of Access

You have the right to request information that we hold on you and how we process that information. This information can be provided in a legible copy format within 30 days of request.

Right to Object

You have the right to object to further processing of your data based on legitimate concerns on how it’s being used. In the absence of overriding legal or contractual obligations, we will generally comply with these requests.

Right to Withdraw Consent

You have the right to withdraw consent for the further processing of information on you. For example, opting out of marketing promotions.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to request that we transfer personal data held on you to a new provider. Such data will be transferred in a structured format and deleted from our systems within one month of transfer from our systems.


Data Retention

Personal data stored on our systems is normally retained for a period of 6 years. In cases of dispute, we may store data for a longer period pending dispute resolution. Offline data such as data backups will normally be purged within 7 years for systems managed by us.

International Transfers

Data held on our systems is not transferred outside the island of Ireland and therefore not outside the EEA. All data therefore is in common area of data protection and is safeguarded accordingly.
